Altair’s Concept to Reality Magazine Receives 2004 Award for Publication Excellence

APEX recognizes magazine for the second consecutive year - New issue now available Troy, MI., March 1, 2005 - The latest issue of Concept to Reality: Ideas and Strategies in Product Development magazine (C2R), sponsored by Altair Engineering, an international product development consulting and technology company, is now available to help upper-level managers and executives improve their product development process.

Concept to Reality received an "Award of Excellence" in the custom-published magazines and journals category as part of the APEX 2004 Awards for Publication Excellence Competition. The APEX Awards recognize excellence in professional publications, including graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.

The magazine is prepared by a team of independent editors bringing information of executive interest on innovative product strategy, design development, process automation, and commercial technologies. C2R includes independent third party perspectives as well as business solutions enabled by Altair Engineering.

The current issue, which focuses on trends in technology, features articles that address high-performance computing; trends in product packaging design and development; an innovative suspension design for a new concept car; and creating better business results through team work and focusing on what’s working versus what’s not. Contributing authors include respected thought leaders from Alfa Romeo, Cray, DaimlerChrysler, Lansmont, Packaging & Technology Integrated Solutions and Pathways to Leadership.

In an introductory editorial, Altair President and CEO Jim Scapa discusses what it takes to keep up with the pace of technology. "New technologies are constantly challenging us to make decisions about how to operate our business better," he says. "Since it’s rarely obvious which technologies will win and which will fail, we have to invest some portion of our time toward assessing technology opportunities."

"Knowing how to effectively find, recognize, implement and deploy new solutions within your business will enable you to keep up with the pace of technology," Scapa concludes.

Those interested in receiving a complimentary subscription to Concept to Reality should visit the company’s web site at: www.altair.com/c2r.
