Strength Assessment of Plastic Components

S-Life Plastics is an easy-to-use software that conducts a short-term, long-term, and fatigue strength assessment based on finite element analysis (FEA) results for plastic components made out of unreinforced or reinforced thermoplastic materials.

In order to conduct a strength assessment S-Life Plastics only needs the local stress tensor, provided by the appropriate result file of the particular FE solver. Additionally, the user has to enter some basic information about the material and loading conditions, and with that S-Life Plastics provides the resulting static and cyclic utilization ratios as contour plots. For every individual node a comprehensive numerical report of the most important assessment variables can be requested for documentation purposes.

Why S-Life Plastics?

Few Material Properties Required

For common polymers, an integrated and extendable polymer material database is included and an easy procedure to add data is provided.

Easy and Fast

Prevent mistakes through simple handling and time saving through automated determination of critical load case combinations if multiple loads are applied.

Reliable Procedure

S-Life Plastics conducts influencing factors onto the local component strength, like multiaxiality, aging, condition, temperature, and load duration.

Key Features

Interfaces

S-Life Plastics interfaces to Altair® OptiStruct®, Altair® Radioss®, Abaqus, ANSYS Mechanical, MSC Nastran, MSC Marc, and NX Nastran.
